Musical ensembles in the Santa Cruz area:
Espressivo Orchestra: A small intense orchestra, was founded by internationally experienced conductor Michel Singher in 2015.
Santa Cruz Symphony: The Santa Cruz Symphony's mission is to inspire, educate and engage through artistic excellence, distinctive musical performances and varied activities that celebrate and enhance the cultural vibrancy of our community.
Ensemble Monterey: Ensemble Monterey Chamber Orchestra enriches the cultural life of the Central Coast, performing music that is adventurous, challenging and unique.
Santa Cruz Chamber Players: Now in their 41st year, the Santa Cruz Chamber Players (SCCP) is a leading performing arts organization in Santa Cruz County and the only one devoted to chamber music performance.
Musical programs and groups for youth:
Cabrillo Youth Strings: Youth program held at Cabrillo College, with 3 levels of orchestra and a chamber music program. Includes a beginner program for students who are just starting out.
Santa Cruz Youth Symphony: Youth program held in downtown Santa Cruz, with a few different ensembles.
Youth Symphony: Full orchestra for intermediate and advanced string, woodwind, brass, and percussion players.
Chamber Strings: String orchestra for beginning to intermediate players (violin, viola, cello, bass).
Chamber Music Academy: Chamber music groups (3-5 persons) available across a range of levels.
Community Music School Teen Band: The CMS hosts events throughout the year focused on folk and Celtic music. Their teen band plays music from Ireland, Scotland, Brittany, Norway, Sweden, and the United States, in addition to modern and more quirky pieces.
